Western Semi-Pro Circuit Winner Announced Saturday, October 29th , 2016 All the votes are in for the Western Semi-Pro Circuit Rookie of the Year Award. The honor for 2016 has been presented to Alvaro Gomez, shortstop for the Steelheads. He fashioned a .298 batting average, piling up 148 hits in 497 at-bats, 15 home runs, 33 walks, 82 RBIs and a .342 OBP. He received 20 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Evan Pellerito of the Las Vegas Rollers finished second in voting, while Jose Fernandez of the Las Vegas Rollers finished third.
