His rookie season has paid off well for Alfonso Serrano of the Senators. He has hit the jackpot. The 24-year-old first baseman topped off his fine first season with the 2016 Eastern Semi-Pro Circuit Rookie of the Year Award.

It was a season to remember for the Senators newcomer. He wrapped up his inaugural year with a .325 batting average, 23 doubles, 2 triples and 29 home runs. Serrano also had 92 RBIs and scored 77 times.

He received 20 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Jose Nava of the D.C. Potomacs finished second in voting, while Nick Jones of the New York Knights finished third.
