Pitching Machine Responsible for Injury to Walker Found to Be Safe Monday, October 3rd , 2016 Safety inspectors declared today that the pitching machine, which hurled an errant fastball into the helmet of Ryan Walker, was working properly. Walker, who was temporarily knocked unconscious when the machine unexpectedly delivered the ball "way high and inside", suffered a mild concussion. However, the Canadians expect Walker to make a full recovery. "He should be back in uniform in a few more days," said manager Steve Turnbull. "We'll keep an eye on him, but he should be fine." Teammate Andreas Oomes added, jokingly, "Ryan just needs to watch himself. I think that pitching machine has it out for him!" |
