Ottawa Capitals Manager, Jim Bell, Hurt During Pre-Game Warmups Sunday, October 2nd , 2016 Ottawa manager Jim Bell was forced to miss yesterday's game after taking an errant throw to his head during warmups. While standing near first base, First Baseman, Eric Streeper, threw a ball to his teammate at first - only it sailed right by and caught the inattentive manager in the right ear. Bell wound up being taken to a local hospital to be observed for symptoms of a concussion. Bell is expected to be fully ready for the team's next game, as all tests for a concussion came back negative. When reached for comment today, the Ottawa Capitals manager saw some humor in the situation. "Look, I've been telling J.D. to have confidence in his arm all year and stop soft tossing the ball," he said. "It's too bad his best throw of the year was at me and not to his teammate." |
