Hamilton Wins Play-in Series Wednesday, September 28th , 2016 The Hamilton Tigers proved to be too much to handle for the Newark Eagles in the Play-in Series, and a sweep was the end result. Hamilton punched its ticket to the Circuit Championship Series on the strength of a 10-8 win in the deciding game, which wrapped up the series 2-0. Hamilton catcher Frank Bolster, named series MVP, was instrumental in the sweep, as he mashed Newark pitching to the tune of a .625 average, with a .667 on-base percentage.
