Hitting Streak Still Alive for Hernandez Saturday, September 24th , 2016 The number just keeps getting higher. Newark first baseman Andres Hernandez has now extended his hitting string to 20 games. He did it today with 2 hits in 6 at-bats as the Newark won the game, 4-3, over the Allentown Fleetwings at Fleetwings Ballpark. "Who knows how long it will go on?" Allentown manager Josh Hensley said. "He's certainly tough to pitch to right now." Andres Hernandez grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, struck out in the 7th, flied out in the 10th and struck out in the 12th. So far this season, Hernandez has gotten 135 hits in 443 at-bats for a .305 batting average with 30 home runs. His stats include 88 RBIs and 89 runs scored. He has played in 115 games. |
