Rand Blanks Allentown, 7-0 Monday, September 12th , 2016 The Allentown Fleetwings were almost helpless in their 7-0 loss to the Quebec City Admirals and hurler Brad Rand. Rand kept the Fleetwings confused all game, spinning a 8-hit shutout. "Tip your hat to Rand," Allentown manager Josh Hensley said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night." The 35-year-old right-hander had 1 walk and 7 strikeouts in a strong performance. "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Rand said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way." To date this season, Rand sports a 6-6 mark with a 4.96 ERA in 20 starting assignments. He has held the opposition to a .296 batting average and has 98 strikeouts in 130.2 innings. View Boxscore |
