Koch Gets 5 Hits
Jared Koch exploded for a barrage of base hits at Caracals Stadium.

The Mexico City first baseman had a field day in his team's 13-5 triumph over the Calgary Caracals, finishing 5-for-6.

"My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch."

Koch must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Jared Koch hit a solo-shot off Bill Salden in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Danny Bullard in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Danny Beasley in the 8th and struck out in the 9th.

Currently Koch is hitting .268 and has collected 17 home runs, 56 RBIs and scored 67 times, while playing in 108 games.
