In a seemingly effortless performance, Zach Hoelzer of the Newark Eagles shot down the D.C. Potomacs, 6-0, on 7 hits.

"Zach was just locating so well and using his pitches," Newark manager Fernando Ugarte said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."

Hoelzer recorded 8 strikeouts and no walks in a strong outing.

"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," D.C. manager Jacob Benton said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."

Checking out his stats for the season, Hoelzer has registered 14 wins and 5 losses in 27 starts, posted a 2.45 ERA, and struck out 157 batters in 183.1 innings.
