Saskatoon-Mexico City Deal: Guthrie for Nelson Tuesday, December 15th , 2015 Saskatoon and Mexico City made a trade today. In this move, the Moose shipped 22-year old minor league LHP Justin Guthrie and 20-year old minor league RHP Eli Bautista to the Aztecas for 32-year old 1B Gabe Nelson and $5,880 in cash. The Saskatoon GM told reporters, "I think this trade is beneficial to everyone involved, including the players." Mexico City will retain a portion of Nelson's remaining contract. A check of his lifetime stats shows Nelson has played in 166 games with a .232 batting average. Among his 136 hits are 35 home runs. He has also scored 106 runs and driven in 100 runs. |
