Saskatoon-Southern California Deal Confirmed Friday, October 30th , 2015 It took some time to iron out the details, but the Moose and Empires have agreed to a swap. Southern California will get 24-year old minor league 1B Branden Cox and 24-year old minor league LHP Jared Smith with Saskatoon receiving 42-year old RHP Matthew Steele in return. A source close to the trade talks said the two clubs were initially looking to make a bigger deal, but discussions broke off late last night. The two sides reconvened early today and eventually settled on this deal. In his career, Steele has compiled an ERA of 4.13 with 26 victories and 24 defeats and has held opponents to a .256 batting average. |
