Sherbrooke Advances to SPBC Classic Series Friday, October 9th , 2015 The Sherbrooke Canadians "proved we can handle pressure" by beating the Division Championship Series and eliminating the Mexico City Aztecas, according to series MVP Robby Welty. "This is the big stage, we're off to the SPBC Classic Series and looking towards the SPBC Classic Series," he said. "There's a lot of pressure at this time of year and it's only going to get more intense from here. But I think we can handle it just fine." Sherbrooke won the final game 6-4, to wrap up the series 4-2. Welty led his team to the series win by putting up a .545 average, with a .565 on-base percentage. He had 4 home runs, drove in 11 RBI and scored 8 runs. The Sherbrooke Canadians will play against the Vacaville Steelheads in the next round. Vacaville won their series against the Newark Eagles 4 games to 1. The SPBC Classic Series schedule will be announced after the Division Championship Series finishes. View Boxscore |
