Boston's Prest Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits Monday, September 14th , 2015 A jubilant Arlen Prest joined the postgame press conference at Shamrock Grounds to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Dallas Texans pitching staff he had just vanquished. "It may not have looked like it," said the Boston Shamrocks first baseman, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different." That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-7 hitting performance, which led to the 8-7 Shamrocks win. "He made it look easy," said Jesus Sanchez, manager of the Texans. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously." Arlen Prest hit a solo-shot off Mario Marquez in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, struck out in the 6th, singled in the 8th, hit a solo-shot off Chris McCarty in the 11th and hit an RBI single in the 12th.
