Chicago Snaps Hinojosa Streak at 20 Monday, September 7th , 2015 Philadelphia left fielder Ivan Hinojosa went 0-for-3 in Philadelphia's 4-0 triumph over the Chicago Union, snapping his 20-game hitting streak. Hinojosa spoke to BNN after the game and said he "knew the hitting streak would end sooner or later." "I just would have preferred later," he said with a laugh. "It was fun though." When Hinojosa made an out in his last chance at the plate, his teammates congratulated him in the dugout. In the clubhouse after the game, he seemed unbothered by the streak ending. "There's nothing scientific about it, that's for sure," Union manager Ron Chiu said of Hinojosa's streak. "He had a nice little run. Let him start another one when we finish the series here." This season, Hinojosa is batting .323 with 4 home runs. His totals include 21 RBIs and 42 runs scored. |
