Diablos Win Cup Qualifier Wednesday, October 14th , 2015 The El Paso Diablos are riding high after knocking off the Houston Mavericks in the Cup Qualifier. "We're feeling confident now and that's half the battle," said Jonathan Thornton, who was named series MVP. "You play confidently, you play well and it shows up with results like this." El Paso won the final game by a 7-3 count at Mavericks Ballpark and the series 4-1. For the series, Thornton hit .471 with a .571 on-base percentage.
