Aces Clip Pilots, 3-2, in CQ Contest
|
The Las Vegas Aces got a strong game from starter Adam Muhammad, but it was some clutch hitting that ultimately delivered the win.
The Aces took the 3-2 win over the Atlanta Pilots in Game 4 of the Cup Qualifier in a 9th inning walk-off. The win capped off a fine outing for the left-handed Muhammad. Muhammad threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball in the win, which brought the Aces into a 2-2 tie in the best-of-7 series.
The decisive blow was delivered by Chris Rolloff in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 25-year old right-handed pitcher Eric Brown to win the game for Las Vegas. The home crowd went nuts.
"This team is real focused right now," said Las Vegas manager Casey Lyman.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Caesers Palace Colosseum in Las Vegas.
