The Detroit Motors had to overcome a big game from Chicago designated hitter Chris Royal to leave The Motor Yard with a victory. And they did, winning, 6-3. Royal was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Picking up the save was Chris Bratton. He's now 6 for 7 in save chances. By defeating Chicago, the 4th-place Motors improved to 39-48.

Paul Fitzgerald, who is tied for 2nd in the PBC in doubles with 26, took Chicago hurler Ben Scarbrough deep in the bottom of the fourth. His 2-run home run put the Motors on top, 4-3. In all, Fitzgerald had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.

"Good, gritty kind of win," said Motors manager Sean Morgan.
