In a low-scoring contest between the Boston Shamrocks and the Philadelphia Keystones, 26-year old right-handed pitcher John Leew proved to be the difference. The Boston right-hander earned props for his performance in the 2-1 Shamrocks win. Leew got the win, improving to 7-2. He gave up 7 hits and walked 0 over 6 innings. He allowed 1 run. Boston won the game in part because of Bill McGaughey. The center fielder ripped a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Shamrocks ahead, 2-0. For the game, McGaughey had 1 double and 1 home run in 3 at-bats.
