The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.

In a tight contest between the Philadelphia Keystones and the Boston Shamrocks, Brandon Beech was the determining factor. The Philadelphia right-hander sparkled in his team's 1-0 win. With the win, Philadelphia upped its record to 45-40.

The Keystones got a clutch hit from pinch hitter Ernie Alexander. In the bottom of the ninth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Keystones.

"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Alexander said after the game.
