The rain came, as predicted, but the Miami Sun Sox and Dallas Texans were able to complete their ballgame.
The Miami Sun Sox downed the Dallas Texans, 5-1, at Everything's Bigger in Texas Ballpark. Stellar pitching by Joe Stark had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2009 draft, handcuffed his opponent all game. The win puts Miami at 32-52.
Had Keith Hardeman not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Hardeman hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Sun Sox.
"What's not to like about a win?" said Hardeman.
