Atlanta Tags Miami with 3-2 Defeat
|
Fans watched the Atlanta Pilots and the Miami Sun Sox fight to the finish.
The Atlanta Pilots picked up a win at Sun Sox Stadium, topping the Miami Sun Sox, 3-2. On the mound for Atlanta was right-hander Bob James. He played a principal role in the triumph. Josh O'Neill, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 10th save.
It could have been a different outcome for Atlanta, had it not been for Luther Rowland, the 25-year old catcher . Rowland contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Atlanta up, 3-2.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Miami manager Barry Lolicht.
Miami has now lost 5 consecutive games.
