The Detroit Motors locked up a win at The Motor Yard, knocking off the Miami Sun Sox, 5-3. On the mound for Detroit was right-hander Nate Kelley. He played a major role in the triumph. The winner was Kelley. He threw 7.0 innings allowing 2 runs. The loser was Joe Stark. Chris Bratton was credited with the save, his 3rd in 3 tries.

Paul Fitzgerald had a big bases-clearing double for the Motors in the bottom of the second inning. With Detroit leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a sinker from Joe Stark and swatted a double to left. It was his 23rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Motors ahead, 4-0.

Fitzgerald told a Detroit Bulletin reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.

With the win over Miami, the Motors improved to 32-44.
