Riding the 3-hit performance of the 26-year old first baseman Chris Morris, the Philadelphia Keystones defeated the Washington Warriors, 3-2. Kadidu Akinshegun was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 11 of 16 save opportunities. With the victory, the Keystones upped their record to 38-35.
With Philadelphia leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Morris hit a fastball from Ron Clous for a solo home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Keystones ahead, 3-1.
"You need to show up when your number's called," said Morris.
