Rafuse, Shamrocks March to 8-3 Victory
The Boston Shamrocks defeated the Tampa Bay Thunder, 8-3, at The Thunder Bowl. Boston was led by 25-year old second baseman Dave Rafuse, who was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. Chris Allen, who went 5.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 7 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 9-5. Isiah McNeal was credited with the save for Boston, his 5th of the season.

In the top of the third, Andy Ingersoll delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and the bases loaded, the Boston shortstop hit a 2-run single, putting the Shamrocks in front, 8-3.

"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Ingersoll told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
