Alexander Goes 5-for-5 Against Vacaville
|
It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Malcolm Alexander -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Bruins Stadium and paced the 11-3 Grizzlies win over the Vacaville Steelheads.
After his dynamite batting performance, the Vancouver third baseman told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control."
His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. Malcolm Alexander hit a solo-shot off Manny Orellana in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
So far this season, Alexander is hitting .338 with 3 home runs, 14 RBIs and 8 runs scored. He has 25 hits in 74 at-bats and a .398 OBP.
