Riding the 3-hit performance of the 30-year old shortstop Ken Gibbons, the Miami Sun Sox defeated the St. Louis Lions, 3-1. Miami pitcher Josh Hensley got the win, upping his record to 4-3. Paul Easterling got the loss. The Sun Sox now have a record of 19-27 with the win over St. Louis.

Miami won the game in part because of Josiah Hilton. The center fielder ripped a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Sun Sox ahead, 2-1. For the game, Hilton had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Miami manager Barry Lolicht said.
