Cutthroats Beat Motors, 6-3
|
The Denver Cutthroats topped the Detroit Motors, 6-3, with third baseman Dan Meyer playing a big role. Meyer belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Cutthroats in the win. Drew Conroy went 7.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits. The right-hander, who leads the PBC in quality starts with 8, struck out 7 and walked 4. With the win, he's now 3-3 this season. The save went to Steve Rossi, his 1st this season.
Meyer had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a first pitch splitter from David Hood, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Cutthroats a 3-2 lead. It was the 10th home run of the year for Meyer.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Meyer told the Denver Chronicle. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
Denver's winning streak has reached 5 games.
