The Tampa Bay Thunder overcame a pretty good performance by St. Louis center fielder Justin Hughes, beating the Lions, 8-6, at The Lions Hearth. Hughes was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. The setback makes St. Louis 12-16.

Tampa Bay used the hitting of Kengo Miyake to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Thunder on top, 8-6. For the game, Miyake had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Miyake.
