Philadelphia Absorbs 4-1 Loss to New York City
|
New York City and Philadelphia duked it out and the Blues came out victorious.
The New York City Blues picked up a win at Blues Field, knocking off the Philadelphia Keystones, 4-1. On the mound for New York City was left-hander Jordan Cintron. He played a key role in the triumph. The save went to John McClinton, his 8th this season.
Sebastian Becton had a big 3-run home run for the Blues in the bottom of the third inning. With New York City leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from John Washington, who is tied for 3rd in the PBC in complete games with 2, and swatted a home run to left. It was his 4th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Blues ahead, 4-0.
New York City manager Jay Bourne called it "a pretty good win."
With the victory, the Blues upped their record to 17-11.
