Cutthroats Score Late, Topple Pilots, 4-2

The Denver Cutthroats and Atlanta Pilots played an exciting game.
Jurg van Gelderen, who is tied for 6th in the PBC with a 1.01 WHIP, was locked in. The right-hander led the Denver Cutthroats to a 4-2 win against the Atlanta Pilots at Cutter's Cove. van Gelderen picked up the win for Denver, going 8 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 4-1. David Gandarilla notched his 1st save of the season.
Denver took a 4-2 lead on Nolan Wheeler's 1st home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Wheeler hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Atlanta pitcher Eric Brown visibly frustrated.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Wheeler said.
With the victory, the Cutthroats upped their record to 11-7.
