Cortez Crus had a strong outing for the Boston Shamrocks against the New York City Blues at Shamrock Grounds. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 5-2 win. Isiah McNeal earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 1-1. With the loss, New York City sinks to 8-5.

Boston took a 3-2 lead on Frank Philpott's 1st double of the season. The 2-run double, which Philpott hit in the bottom of the eighth, left New York City pitcher John McClinton visibly frustrated.

Philpott attributed the win to "concerted effort and focus."
