5-Hit Barrage by Torres Wednesday, July 4th , 2012 Detroit (R) Motors second baseman Bobby Torres had a day to remember at PBC Rookie Development Complex, ripping apart the San Francisco (R) Peanuts and sparking the 10-8 Motors win. Torres wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-6. "I'm usually a first ball hitter," Torres told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it." Bobby Torres flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Daniel Ferreira in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
