Steelheads Win 2011 SPBC Classic Series Thursday, October 20th , 2011 The Vacaville Steelheads pulled out all the stops tonight, winning the SPBC Classic Series in a hard-fought series with the Mexico City Aztecas. It was a seesaw affair, but with a 6-0 victory at Ballpark of Vacaville, Vacaville lay claim to the franchise's 2nd championship. "There's no denying we faced a tough opponent," said Chris Ring. "But as the old saying goes, 'when the going gets tough, the tough get going,' and that's what we did today." The champs finished the regular season 54-34 and claimed first place in the West Division. A victory parade is set to be scheduled in Vacaville in the days to come. View Boxscore View Game Log |
