Braves Fizzle in 9-0 Loss to Bruins Tuesday, September 20th , 2011 Alan Staubitz was throwing strikes early and getting ahead in the count, his manager said after the Vancouver Bruins hurler tossed a 7-hit, complete game shutout against the Green Bay Braves. "I went right after each hitter, trying to get ahead in the count," said Staubitz. "I wanted them to swing the bats and keep my pitch count down. It worked. I felt strong the whole game, even in the last two innings." Staubitz walked 2 and struck out 9 in the 9-0 victory. This year, Staubitz has fanned 181 in 158 innings and collected a 11-7 record with a 3.13 ERA. View Boxscore |
