R Most Valuable Player Award Goes to Brace Sunday, October 25th , 2009 The best could still be yet to come for Bryce Brace of the Tampa Bay (R) Thunder, and that's the scary part. At the age of only 19, the ace pitcher has accomplished a major feat, being named the 2009 PBC Rookie Complex League Most Valuable Player Award winner. His breakthrough campaign saw him put up a 7-3 record, while pitching 113.2 innings, with 156 strikeouts and 59 walks, for a 2.45 ERA. Brace was tough on hitters all season long, as they only put up a .188 batting average against him. "I had a lot of fun this season," the young talent said. He received 13 first place votes out of a possible 16. Eric Ege of the Houston (R) Mavericks finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Willie Rodriguez of the Boston (R) Shamrocks finished third.
