Admirals Deny Chargers, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Quebec City Admirals and the Detroit Chargers, 31-year old right-handed pitcher John Frost proved to be the difference. The Quebec City right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Admirals win. The winning pitcher was Frost, now 5-6. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 5. Earning his 2nd save of the year was Jay Wolf.
The Admirals got a big at-bat from first baseman Evan Williamson. For the game, Williamson went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Quebec City a 3-2 lead.
"We did a lot of really good things and it was a good win," said Admirals manager Curtis Holtz.
Quebec City has a record of 34-31, placing them second in the East Division.
