Fleetwings Rally For 2-0 Win
|
In a tight tilt between Allentown and Quebec City, pitcher Tim Wharton was a key contributor. The right-hander earned accolades for his standout performance in the 2-0 Fleetwings win. Wharton yielded no runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. His record improves to 5-5. The Fleetwings, at 18-27, sit in 5th place in the East Division.
Allentown used the timely hitting of Chris Tarter to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Fleetwings on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Tim made the big pitches when he needed to," said Allentown manager Ryan Carlson.
