Division Championship Series Goes the Distance, Las Vegas Prevails
Thursday, October 9th , 2008
When the entire season comes down to one game, Elliott Adkins said you find out what a team is really about.
As it turns out, the Las Vegas Rollers are made of fight and tenacity, as the team got by the Ottawa Capitals 9-0 tonight at Capitals Stadium in order to win the Division Championship Series and book a place in the next round.
"It wasn't hard to get excited for this game," said Adkins, whose strong offensive output earned him MVP honors. "Our guys answered the call and proved a lot about what our team is all about."
Adkins hit .429 with a .467 on-base percentage. He had 5 home runs, drove in 13 RBI and scored 7 runs.
The Las Vegas Rollers will play against the Winnipeg Buffaloes in the next round. Winnipeg won their series against the Vacaville Steelheads 4 games to 1. The SPBC Classic Series schedule will be announced after the Division Championship Series finishes.
