Semi-Pro Baseball Circuit Best Pitcher Named Friday, October 31st , 2008 With speculation about his retirement gaining steam last offseason, Canadians ace Ricardo Mercado had something to prove. He proved it in award-winning style as he accepted the Semi-Pro Baseball Circuit Pitcher of the Year Award today. The veteran Sherbrooke hurler posted a record of 11 wins and 5 losses this year with a 2.69 ERA. In 22 starts he struck out 164 and walked 62 in 160.2 innings.
