Premier Rookie Picked by SPBC--McNary Selected Wednesday, October 29th , 2008 What a season it was for Ottawa's Bruce McNary in this new star's first year in the Semi-Pro Baseball Circuit. He put together a year that earned him the 2008 Rookie of the Year Award. The 27-year-old catcher crunched some good numbers with a .219 batting average and a .332 on-base percentage to go with his 17 home runs, 36 RBIs and 37 runs scored. He received 13 first place votes out of a possible 18. Max Berry of the Edmonton Drillers finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Hisaaki Murakami of the Vancouver Bruins finished third with 1 first place vote.
