Vacaville Breaks Through for First Win in Division Championship Series; Now Trails 3-1
The Vacaville Steelheads have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Winnipeg Buffaloes, winning, 7-3, at Goldeyes Park. Steelheads right-hander Tim Wharton threw 7.1 innings allowing 3 runs. The win cuts the deficit facing the Steelheads to 3-1 in the best-of-7 Division Championship Series.

Vacaville used the hitting of Alejandro Celada to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the second inning to put the Steelheads on top, 2-0. For the game, Celada had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"The bar for us is not a particular opponent, it's ourselves," said Vacaville manager John Mills.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Goldeyes Park in Winnipeg.
