Behind a bravura effort from starter Matt Hemmelgarn, the Winnipeg Buffaloes topped the Las Vegas Rollers by the score of 3-2 and got their first win in the 2008 SPBC Classic Series. Hemmelgarn threw 6.2 innings allowing 1 run for the Buffaloes. The win moves Winnipeg into a 1-1 tie with Las Vegas.

Winnipeg designated hitter Dennis Ziemer delivered a solo home run in the top of the eighth. Overall, he went 3 for 4, picking up 1 home run, 1 single, and 1 double. He scored 1 run and knocked in 1.

"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Ziemer.

The next game is set to be played for Tuesday, October 14th , 2008 at Goldeyes Park in Winnipeg.
