The Vacaville Steelheads defeated the Sherbrooke Canadians, 9-8. Right Fielder Craig Herring deserved a large share of the credit. Herring went 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 doubles, while scoring 2 and driving in 4 for the Steelheads. Simon Thornley locked down his 23rd save.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Steelheads grabbed the lead when Herring hit his 8th home run of the season. The solo home run off Nick Minns made it 9-8, Vacaville.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Vacaville manager John Mills.

This win makes it 5 in a row for Vacaville.
