Ryan Ream impressed in the 5-3 Allentown win over Newark. Ream, who finished 3rd in the SPBC in stolen bases with 38 in 2006, went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2. Allentown reliever Jeff Crouse picked up the win, while David Waggoner took the loss for Newark. Picking up his 2nd save was top prospect Eddie Chile.

An inflection point occurred with one out in the bottom of the fifth. That's when Fleetwings shortstop Blake Floyd hit a fastball from David Waggoner for a 2-run single. Just like that, Allentown was up, 4-3.

"When you win, you always have confidence," said Allentown skipper Craig McCain. "Nobody likes to lose. Losing is a downer. That's how we look at it. It's always good to win."

The Eagles, at 45-39, have lost 5 straight games.
