Capitals Use Late Surge to Win
The Ottawa Capitals beat the Las Vegas Rollers, 7-5, at Capitals Stadium. Ottawa designated hitter Jason Salyer had an outstanding performance. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Ottawa reliever Kevin Crawford, who is tied for 5th in the SPBC in holds with 4, was credited with the win. His record goes to 1-0. Dan Cassidy took the loss for Las Vegas. At 53-30, the Capitals find themselves in first place in the East Division.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Salyer hit a curveball from Dan Cassidy for a 2-run home run. The Capitals, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"What a great game, great atmosphere," Salyer said.
