4-2 Triumph Takes Ottawa to 52-29
|
Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Ottawa Capitals take on the Las Vegas Rollers.
The Ottawa Capitals picked up a win at Capitals Stadium, taking down the Las Vegas Rollers, 4-2. Starting pitcher Jamie Pickrell was a big reason why. Chris Kaplan wrapped it up, recording his 25th save.
Armando Gonzalez was a prime factor in the win for the Capitals. In the bottom of the fifth with two out, the 30-year old first baseman hit a 2-run single. He went 1-4, while adding 2 RBI.
"I made good pitches, kept the ball out of the middle of the plate for the most part," said Pickrell.
After today's action, Ottawa sits at 52-29, while Las Vegas falls to 47-34.
