Tigers Handed 5-4 Loss
|
The rain came, as predicted, but the Newark Eagles and Hamilton Tigers were able to complete their ballgame.
The Newark Eagles beat the Hamilton Tigers, 5-4, at Eagles Park. Newark shortstop Rob Davidson had an outstanding performance. He was 2 for 2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Newark has run its win streak to 5 in a row.
Nate Spalding, who finished 2nd in the SPBC in triples with 7 in 2005, chipped in a solo home run for Newark in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.
Davidson said afterward that he was glad to contribute to the win.
