Empires Topple Bruins, 4-1

The Southern California Empires topped the Vancouver Bruins, 4-1, in Semi-Pro Baseball Circuit action at Empires Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Southern California pitcher and Four Corners, Florida, native Mark Fielding. Allan Tiefel picked up the save for Southern California, his 11th of the year. Southern California is now 35-43, Vancouver 41-37.
The Empires got a lift from catcher Tom Hutchinson, who in the bottom of the first hit a grand slam home run. His 5th home run of the season put the Empires on top, 4-0.
"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Hutchinson told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."
