Braves Drop Caracals, 2-1, with Late Score

The Green Bay Braves and Calgary Caracals put on a pitchers' duel.
The Green Bay Braves faced a tough opponent in Calgary pitcher Scott Lovely, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Caracals Stadium by a final score of 2-1. Lovely went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. Green Bay reliever Chris LaBriola was the winner. His record is now 5-2. Trevor Busenbark took the loss. Adam Lucas locked down his 5th save.
In the top of the eighth, two-time All-Star Johnny Wallace delivered for Green Bay. That's when he belted a solo home run, putting the Braves up, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a climactic one.
"One measly run," said Calgary manager Rodolfo Ramirez. "That won't win you too many games."
