Canadians Capture Close Win
|
The Sherbrooke Canadians overcame a good performance by Quebec City left fielder Rob Corkle to knock off Quebec City, 4-3, at Canadians Park. Corkle was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Jing Sa notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record now sits at 1-2. The victory gives Sherbrooke a record of 35-35.
Sherbrooke got a knockout punch from Chris Brophy. The catcher hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
Said Brophy: "It's just one win, but it feels like more when you outlast a tough opponent."
